Art year 13

This year I've chosen to do art design. I have chosen art design because last year I felt like a thrived and was surprisingly passionate about what I was designing. I hope to replicate the level of achievement I achieved last year.
The reason I feel I did so well last year was that I was passionate about the artwork I was doing. This pushed me to make my work at a high level. Something that didn't work so well last year was that I sat with people who I talked a lot to. Lucky for me there gone so this year that shouldn't be a problem.
After doing some brainstorms I've decided to design some advertisement for a horror movie. I decided to design this as I for some reason really like creating and making artwork around morbid topics.

Our teacher got us to make a mood board as well. She did this so that if we get stuck we can look back at artists we like for inspiration. From doing the mood I found out about Banksy his work is illegal and risky and complements his art style as his art is political.

Here is my board so far.

This month I have finished my logo. I worked my way up from the oringal logo I had and now am finished. I also did my poster. I am fully finished that swell. I am now working on two things. DVD or Blu Ray covers and my website.. My future plans will be to probs make a Netflix page or something idk tbh. What worked well is that I have gotten used to illustrator so I am very quick at drawing stuff on it. What is going bad is I am kinda behind in my work.

I am not sure if i put it on the matrix, but I should have; please also look up Saul Bass. he is very cool as a designer.

Also, I strongly recommend that you 'know your stuff'. horror movie classics would be an awesome inspiration for you - alfred hitchcock in particular. The cinematography is awesome in his works. a deliberate play on oldschool horror would be a cool way to go. i think we need to look at merchandising around a movie and also make sure we have enough to develop 6 - 8 mini briefs from too. we may need to develop the production company that specialises in horror movie effects or movies first.

You are going to do my head in posting on the same post each time.

We will have to look at how those posters are formatted on your board, as Im not convinced your best ones are your finals and some of them just don't fit in. Im going to suggest you print out a SMALL version of your first board (A3 sized0 so that we can cut it up and critique it.

We are also going to look at how we format your website Design pages so that they look as sharp as possible and show us the generate, develop, refine cycle a little more clearly. In the mean time, I want you to go and find some newspaper, and make a collage version of your poster out of cut out shapes. cut the figure form out of random newspaper pages, position them over a other page that is unrelated, print out the text and stick it over top, use watercolour to differentiate between background and figure (red). If none of this makes sense, have a go at making something that seems about right and we will see what we get! Scan the work you make, because there will be elements that are going to be useful on your poster designs you already have.

You will need to hold off on the website design until we get this done. The refinement level required at level three is why Im getting you to constantly go back over your work and rework things.
